Social Media Selectivity
I’ve been thinking lately about how I spend my time. I now have two books published and am working on book three. Frankly, trying to keep up with what the algorithms want is giving me a migraine. So, I’ve decided to consolidate a bit and focus on my strengths.
I currently have an author account and a separate shop account on TikTok. I’ve seen no movement on my shop account at all. And granted, I haven’t put much effort into posting on that account. But with the ridiculous rules TikTok imposes, it’s just not worth it to me. (I believe you now have two days to put your items in the mail. Otherwise you are penalized.)
I have decided to create a Facebook group, M.A. Kilpatrick’s Kindred, for fans of my work. It is the least onerous social media for me to focus on, therefore that is where I will focus my efforts. I hope this group will turn out to be a gathering place where people can talk about my books, find out about events and sales, and sign up for alpha, beta, and ARC reading opportunities. I also love the idea of getting real feedback from the public, so I can gauge where I’m at and where I should focus. If this is of interest to you, you’ll find that here.
