Danú, The Morrígan, and Twins…Oh My!
Hey, folks. So, my next trilogy wants to be written. The Irish Pantheon is waking me up at 2 a.m. with suggestions on exactly how I should bring them to life.
And that’s fabulous, except for a few snags. I just moved about a month ago and am currently still wading through the unpacking process, as well as dealing with a neurotic Puggle who thinks he runs the house. (And, to be honest, he’s not wrong. As much as I wish he were.) I’ve also been looking for a day job since January, but the job market is a dumpster fire. So DoorDash it is! The only problem with that is that it leaves little time for writing. But I digress.
So, the second trilogy will center on the next generation of the Aos Sí. Keegan and Calder’s twins have developed some unique talents. Whether or not those skills will help or hinder them remains to be seen. They will be forced to undertake a challenge even greater than their parents faced, and this challenge will involve a new type of familiar—
Dragons! The next generation of Fae will receive dragon familiars. And they will have to train together to battle an enemy beyond any they’ve ever seen—namely, several members of the Irish Pantheon.
You may not be familiar with this Pantheon. In addition to Danú (and the inimitable Dragon Gods), there are several gods and goddesses that I am excited to introduce you to…The Dagda and his Cauldron, the fire goddess Brigit with her royal oxen, and the master craftsman sun god Lugh, to name a few. But the one I’m most looking forward to is—
The Morrigan. Goddess of war and fate. Currently driven by a need for vengeance and determined to conquer those she has deemed her enemies. Her bitterness and hatred, stemming from a perceived abandonment, will fuel a battle that will divide the gods and define the future of the Aos Sí.
Will the next generation of Fae and their dragon familiars find a way to overcome the will of the savage war goddess and those she manages to lure to her side?
I guess we’ll find out, once I get the story out of my head and into the book!
